The Old Parsonage House
Our History
In December, 1918, one of the finest homes in Clifton Forge was purchased for a parsonage for the First Christian Church for the sum of $8,250.00. The home hosted many weddings and church functions over the years.
The “Marriage Room” was a special place at the parsonage house. There, hundreds of couples were married over the decades. Mr Long performed nearly 2,000 marriages during his time at First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Clifton Forge .
The “Marriage Room” provided an intimate setting for smaller weddings for church members.
